Do you enjoy peace?
The house is quiet. All are asleep. No one needs me right now. This time is mine.
I open my Bible.
Peace is a lovely gift. So many of us are surrounded by noise and our lives are busy. We can have noise even when no one is around. However, spending time, in peace and quiet while awake throughout the day, can be a true blessing.
Our Maker longs to give us peace.
This past weekend I was able to travel to Williamsburg, VA. While I was there it was so enjoyable to walk through Old Colonial Williamsburg and explore the campus of William & Mary. Reflecting back, I realize that the blue sky during the day and the dark sky sprinkled with stars at night, was very visible.
Of course the sky had a light source present throughout the day and night. The roadways were wide that accompanied the foot path for those who toured around the town. The open feeling of my surroundings allowed me to see the beauty and buildings that were built almost 400 years ago.
Interestingly, the sky plays such a role in our days. The sky can somewhat set the mood of our day. And the sky can help to frame our memories and recall of a setting we have stored in our brain. This could be an indicator that we are to look up and take in the day.
I hope you enjoy some peace today.
Allow yourself to be present in the peace.
Try to take a mental note of what you are experiencing that is peaceful.
Be aware of the blessing that eminates from peace.
Ephesians 2:14
