12/16/24- No Locks

When do you lock your doors?

The day is coming when those who lock their doors at night will no longer feel the need, because there will be nothing to fear. There will be no darkness, no evil doings, because the Glory of God will give us light. He will finally be reunited with all who believe. His gates will always be open.

The home pictured above is the childhood home where I grew up. My room was the top left two windows. And as you can see the door is open. Last Christmas there was a fire that burned the first floor. Help arrived in time to extinguish the fire to save the structure. However, to remove the damages from fire, smoke, and water has taken a full year to rebuild and repair the home.

In the same regard, each and everyone of us take time to build up a firm foundation to stand up against the temptations that can harm us. There are plenty of temptations that surround us that can lead us astray. Whether we openly invite or mistakenly find ourselves believing what we want to believe as ok, there will be repercussions.

When damage comes from a relationship with someone we should be able to trust, the damage can take an immeasurable amount of time to heal, and open our hearts and minds to trust again. Throughout this process, we almost have to learn to love ourselves again.

If this harmful influence was a Mother or Father the healing can take longer and can follow us through life. The choices we make usually impacted by the unhealthy choices we grew up around. The blessing is that our Father in heaven is loving and gracious. He is merciful, and His love abounds forever.

Today is a great day to express gratitude to those who have been blessed with loving parents throughout this life. What a blessing to have support from parents who pave the way to establishing a good life. Thank you Dad & Mom! 🫶🏻♥️
