12/5/24- Bold Statement

Have you heard someone make a bold statement that made you stop and think?

No bolder statement could have been spoken than the statement that Jesus prayed aloud to His Father prior to His death. This statement was recorded by hand and documented. This statement which was made some 2000 years ago, long before social media, television, newspapers or mass printing was a thing, and has been sold to billions of people. Those who own the Bible have a copy of this statement. Those who have a phone, which is most of us, have access to this statement via biblegateway.com.

"I have glorified You on earth.

I have finished the work which

You have given Me to do.

And now O Father, glorify Me

together with Yourself,

with the glory which

I had with You

before the world was."

John 17: 4-5

This statement was made by Jesus. It is His declaration that before He was born into this world, He was with God the Father in heaven. He also proclaims that He has done what God sent Him to do in His time on earth. Finally, Jesus is calling on the Father to glorify Him "together with" God, His Father, with "the glory which I had with You before the world was."

Jesus has prepared His disciples for the work that lay ahead of them after He is gone. His prayer was not only on behalf of His disciples, but for all believers. He did not one sheep left behind. He prayed for both Jews and Gentiles that all would come to believe that Jesus was God's Son, sent on our behalf to save and reunit us with God in heaven.

It's one thing to read the Bible. However, it is a whole new experience that will move you and make you understand the magnitude of God's ultimate plan which He laid out in advance, so that all of His children have the opportunity to be reunited with Him in heaven, the garden. When you break down the verses and study the Bible, this is when you grow in God's goodness. Ultimately, you will be blessed in this life and the eternal life everlasting.

John 17: 25

" O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. And I declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."

My daughter has also made bold statements throughout her lifetime. God is abundant and has blessed Grace with so much to glorify Him. People will try to take the spotlight from those who glorify God throughout their lives. God deserves the ultimate spotlight for all the goodness and glory in this lifetime.

The hope is that all of His believers try not to get sidetracked. If we stay the course and speak the truth, maybe and hopefully we will guide the lost sheep back to Him. God is the glory!
