There is a perfect time and place for what is to benefit us. If we receive something in the wrong time, it can potentially be detrimental to us. Also, if we make plans for our lives based off worldly ways, we can make the wrong decision for our best path. God’s planning and timing is perfect.
The dream of swimming at the Olympics was something that was questioned of me over and over again by neighbors and family members who saw my talent blossom at a young age. In order for this dream to become a reality, miles and miles of laps must be swum. Muscles must be built. Technique must be perfected. All of this while escaping injury and keeping your body healthy. The amount of sacrifice that is made is immeasurable, let alone the calories that must be consumed. The reality is that so many components are required and must align for this dream to become a reality. The most important componenet is time. Becoming an Olympian requires countless hours of sacrifice and training.
In all actuality, what we hear repeated to us can sometimes cloud our own desires and dreams, and words can form us into who we think we should become. Those words spoken repetitiously are influential and can alter our own thoughts and desires of reality and attainability. The world is a noisy place with so much stimulation that moves at a rapid pace. It is important to retreat and find peace away from influences that can alter our chosen path.
During a time of waiting, we can grow and gain wisdom. The alternative can also happen, we can find ourselves in a place of suffering. There are no easy answers for those who are suffering. This is all the more reason to make sure that we seek truth for ourselves on which path is best for our lives. God hears our prayers, and can enable us to endure the time of waiting.
As we grow, we are exposed to more and learn to handle the responsibilites that come with gain. While waiting, make every effort to hold onto the goodness in each and every day. Turn from ways that are not productive, and stop and smell the roses. There is so much beauty in this vast world created for our enjoyment.
Spend time with God in nature, and shut out the outside world. This will ensure that you decipher and follow God's plan, which He has laid out for each and every one of us since the beginning of time.
1 Corinthians 3: 18- 23
"Let no one deceive himself.
If anyone among you seems
to be wise in this age,
let him become a fool
that he may become wise.
For the wisdom of this world
is foolishness with God.
For it is written, 'He catches the wise in their own craftiness',
and again, 'The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise,
and they are futile.'
Therefore let no one boast in men.
For all things are yours:
whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death,
or things present or things to come---
all are yours.
And you are Christ's and Christ is God's."
