2/8/24- Life Path - Part 2

Jeremiah 29: 11-13

" For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."

Throw back to my post from yesterday, the man that I have been married to for 30 years, was at that same swim meet at Justus Aquatic Center in April 1987. He was also on the podium at Junior Nationals. I didn't meet him at the meet, but I did meet him in August 1987 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. We both chose to attend UNC-CH and compete on the Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams.

Jeremiah 29:11- 13 will become a verse that I rely on, post on my wall, and memorize in my late 20s. This verse wasn't top of mind when I was 18 years old. Although, I did pray to God about my swims at Junior Nationals, and I did pray that I would get to attend UNC-CH. I also prayed for a lovely man to spend my life alongside. These prayers were heard and answered, as they were God's will to prosper me and give me a future of hope.

The reason it is so important to learn and dive into the Bible and God's promises in His word, is to understand the history that is recorded in the Bible. It's important to learn the promises God has made and kept throughout the centuries to His chosen people, the Jews. This promise from God was to His people of Israel, whom He promised to deliver out of Babylon captivity back to Israel.

Have you prayed to God for guidance and direction in your life? God wants us to call on Him and turn to Him, just as He wants us to rely on His word in the Bible.

Truth! I have loved Jeremiah 29:11 for years! Now I will also commit verses 12 and 13 to memory as well.

”For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.“
