3/28/24- Hand-picked

Updated: Apr 12

Who are some of your favorite people to be around?

I enjoy being with people that I have something in common with, but I believe we can find something in common with someone if we try? People who are: kind, caring, gentle, make me feel special, loving and funny people are good qualities I enjoy to be around. I also like hard-working people. People that you know have your back, no matter what, are also my kind of people. However, we don't always get so lucky as to hand-pick or choose the people we spend the bulk of our time with.

Jesus had a following of people. However, Jesus appointed and picked His followers, disciples. He knew He needed certain individuals with certain talents to aid Him during His time with man. He was able to pick individuals who met His earthly needs and those who had His back all the time. His disciples and some women, who followed Him, left their old lives behind completely and never returned to their old way of life.

Psalm 100: 5-

“For the Lord is good;

His mercy is everlasting,

And His truth endures to all generations.”

Jesus knew these people and their qualities, before He asked them to join Him. He knew they would have a desire to continue to share the word and witness to others about Jesus, and His amazing miracles, compassion, gentleness, and loving ways.

I know all of these individuals that Jesus picked were hard workers and had other qualities that Jesus valued. We are all given valuable qualities. We are called to use these gifted valuable qualities to continue to spread love and goodness to all God’s children.

Don't let fears in any shape or form keep you from using your gifts to advance love. Jesus who walked this earth and never sinned, was still convicted by man and hung on the cross.

People of this world can stir up anything. The majority of the time, those in this world don't want to highlight or emphasize the favorable aspects of others. I believe this is a cause of their own sinful hearts and a way of conforming to this world.
