5/2/24- Goodness

Do you check your attitude and practice what you ponder?


The peony is one of my favorite flowers with all the delicate layers with such an abundant fragrance. I have had these peony plants for 20 + years. My Mom brought them down from the mountains and helped me plant them in my yard. Before we moved I dug them up and brought them with me to their new home. They didn't bloom last year because the ants hadn't found them yet. This year, however, the ants have been busy doing their jobs eating the wax off the buds so they could bloom. Every living creature has a job and a purpose. So thankful for these little ants that work hard to reveal God’s beauty for us to enjoy.


Life is good, but it can also be hard. We find ourselves repeating and working ourselves daily on the hamster wheel of life. It is a grind.


Attitude can have such an impact on our daily requirements. How we allow our words to impact our day and others around us can really affect our outlook.


The practice of holding our tongues and not letting complaints or nagging fly free is how we are called to live our lives. Choosing to face our day with a positive outlook will tend to make our focus for the day positive, leading to a good day. Train yourself with God’s guidance to choose to focus on the goodness every day.


Philippians 4: 8- 9

8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
