5/21/24- This Minute

Updated: May 21

What did God give you this very minute?

If you are alive, then you are breathing. The gift of breath is not one to underestimate. The air you breathe each minute contains oxygen which travels throughout your entire body and allows all the processes in the innumerable and countless cells, which are intricate in and of themselves, to complete the essensial tasks to keep your body alive. Each cell is dependant on oxygen to sustain life. God knew exactly what He was doing when He created the human body.

If you've studied Anatomy and Physiology, it is mind blowing to learn and try to comprehend all the processes that are functioning constantly in every cell in your body throughout every single minute of every day, throughout a lifetime. None of these processes are witnessed by us. Nor are we aware that they are taking place. Each one of us has FAITH instilled in us from young childhood that our bodies will just do the work necessary for us to live each and every new day.

I'm reminded of one of my favorite quotes from Young Sheldon when he is trying to cheer his mom up. He was concerned because his Mom hadn't gone to church or said grace before dinner, like she normally did. Sheldon's Mom says, "FAITH means believing in something you're not sure is real." His rebutal filled with scientific facts also builds a strong case that God does exist. He says, "Did you know that if gravity were slightly more powerful, the universe would collapse into a ball. Also, if gravity were slightly less powerful, the universe would fly apart and there would be no universe or planets." He continues with; "Gravity is precisely as strong as it needs to be, and if the electromagnetic force to the strong force wasn't one percent, life wouldn't exist. What are the odds that would happen all by itself."

The innocence of this remark from a young genius is so heartwarming and exudes complete love that young Sheldon has for his Mom. If we could just hold onto the innocence of a young child and the FAITH of a child that is required to believe that all life is impossible without God. What a different place this world would be. I have FAITH that this is what the world, which is to come, will embody. Only great things come from the love from above, and keeping the FAITH of a child.

"Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls...We can do no great things---only small things with great love." -Mother Teresa

Hebrews 11: 1- 3

"Now FAITH is the substance of things hoped for,

the evidence of things not seen.

For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

By FAITH we understand that the worlds

were framed by the word of God,

so that the things which are seen were not made

of things which are visible."
