5/6/24-Joy’s of Friendship

Do you have friends or a friend that you’ve had for a long time who just get you?

It is so refreshing and good for the soul when you can spend time with a friend you have known for thirty-plus years. There are no cares or concerns. It is just easy.

My husband and I had our college teammate come for the weekend. Two days were spent out on the water, which is a favorite pastime. We reminisced about several stories from our time together at UNC. Not only did we share stories, but we created new memories. We shot a few lip-sync videos and blasted Boston through the speakers while jammin out. So good for the spirit and the soul.

God wants us to have friends and connect with others. He wants us to love others without judgment. Love is the greatest gift.

Unconditional, unselfish, and comfortable companionship exists to offer us support, connection, and rejuvenation from our constant relentless grind of life. Blessed to reap the benefits of God’s gift of friendship. The infamous Beetle song sings about it, “ Can’t buy me love.” God is the reason we love. No amount of money can buy the best and most authentic friendships.

1 John 4:7 “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”
