716/24- Two Nickels & Two Dimes

Updated: Jul 23

Have you witnessed a true sign from God?

If you haven't, well I'm about to share with you another story about a girl named Sunday, who has most recently experienced a divine revelation. I have shared with you that I spent the weekend, or at least a few hours with countless friends of Heather's this past weekend. This story is dedicated to my dear friend with whom I learned of what she calls God-winks. A God-wink is a way a loved one who has passed shows up in a form like a; butterfly, a dragonfly, a piece of buttered toast or two dimes and two nickels.

I do hope that all who read this will receive this blessing. And I hope that faith and belief in God will be established by reading this story that I share with all of you today.

After I had heard from my dear friend Heather of her diagnosis and that her time on earth was limited, I was sharing this with my friend in conversation. We have had several discussions about the afterlife and what's to come. She is a wonderful friend who is kind, thoughtful, giving, soft spoken and I know with all my heart if I needed her that she would be there for me if she could. My friend prompted me to ask Heather if she might give me a sign after she had died. I wonder if you asked her to give you a sign then you will know that she is with God, and that she is ok. She said, “maybe you could ask her to show up in some obscure creature, a unique color butterfly or some random bug.” I listened to her, and then we moved past this topic.

This is not something that I would ask of someone, because I have unwaivering faith and complete trust that God is real. However, while I was talking with Heather one day, I brought this up to her and what my friend had said to me. Her response was very similar to my thoughts. "I would not want to make that promise, because what if I wasn't able to send a sign, and then someone might lose their faith. I'd just rather not make a promise that I don't know that I can keep." After this, she proceeded to tell me about her friend Sunday.

Sunday was Heather's friend for decades. She lived close by these past several plus years and would visit Heather several times a month. Heather was very much a home body, so if you wanted to see Heather, most of the time, you would have to go to her. So while sitting on Heather's back porch, which overlooked the lake, they would share a drink and conversation.

One day Sunday shared a story with Heather about her dad who had passed away not too long ago. Sunday's father had given her two nickels before he passed and said to her, "think of me whenever you see two nickels." Sunday had said to Heather, it would be cool if you could send me two dimes after you pass, then I will know that you are with my dad in heaven. Heather told me that she told Sunday, "I don't want to say I will do that for the same reason, what if I am not able to do that and then she won't believe that her dad and I are with God in heaven." I told Heather at that moment that I was going to find Sunday at the service and give her two nickels, because Heather had actually interchanged the two coins when she told me the story. Heather had told me that Sunday's father was two dimes. That is why I had said that I would give Sunday two nickels at the service, and that the nickels would represent Heather. I said, "this will be her way of knowing that you are with her dad, and God and at peace. Then you won't have to worry about whether you can give her the coins, I've got you." Of course, I am so much like Heather and would not want to steer anyone away from peace or make them question their faith in God.

This past Saturday after Heather's service, I had to ask several people to help me find Sunday, whom I have never met. I had two nickels in the pocket of my dress and was excited to give them to Sunday. I hugged her and asked her to hold out her hand. She did, and I placed two nickels in her hand. Her mouth dropped and she was slow to say, "Did Heather tell you to do give these to me." Both Sunday and I were scrambling to try to address this situation. I said, "Heather's the two nickels, right." She said, "No, my dad is the two nickels." There was silence between us, and we looked at each other in the eyes for some time. "I can't believe this," she said.

Here is what Sunday told me next. She said that she works on construction sites, and often has to go to different sites to check the progress of jobs. About two weeks after Heather passed, she was at a site. She had walked around and completed her tasks, so she was headed back to her car. There was an obstacle in her way, so she veered off her direct path and walked a path she has never taken before at this site. She proceeded to walk between two dumpsters, and there on the ground as she turned the corner were two shiny dimes in her path. She said that she almost lost it. She had no one to share this with that would get it, and she said to me, "and now you are here." Heather was the two dimes. God allowed Sunday to find two dimes, from Heather, to know that she is at peace with her dad and God in heaven. I told Sunday, that the two nickels were exactly what I was suppose to give her. They were from her Father in heaven who is with our good friend Heather, and they are both at peace with God.

I know from scripture verses in the Bible, that we are not to tempt God. Jesus said this to the devil while He was in the desert. In Matthew 4: 5- 7

“ Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, ‘If you are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:

‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and,

‘In their hands they shall bear you up,

Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’”

“Jesus said to him, ‘It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’”

God does NOT want any of His good children to lose faith.

God has the best plan for our lives set in stone. He knows that His best plan includes making us fall in love with Him wholeheartedly. He wants all of us to TRUST that He is in heaven, and that we ALL will be reunited with Him after our death, if we believe in Him and His Almighty Son.

Remember to read and learn His word to help you in times where you are being tempted. Find your faith, hold strong, and never waiver, He is the Almighty who longs for us to be with Him at peace in Heaven for eternity.
