Have you told someone you love that you love them lately?
Love is such a gift, and should not be taken for granted. Say, “I Love You!”, and mean it! Love can be given, but hopefully, it is received. This is not a guarantee that someone will hear or even believe or receive love when we speak these words.
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, who all walked with Jesus while He was in the world, all recorded independantly of one another that we are to "love the Lord your God, with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." The greatest gift of love is to lay down your life for a friend. That is what Jesus did for all of us, out of love. We do not have to sacrifice our lives. Although, some of us probably would out of love. Many parents feel love for their own children just as we are called to love God our Father.
John 15: 12- 13
"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends."
Recently, it has surfaced that many people reflect on the last words they have spoken to a loved one who has passed away. No one wants the last words they recall having spoken or received to be words of malice. One thing we know for certain is that we don't know when we will pass from this life. This requires each of us to consider all the more carefully what we vocalize to our loved ones.
Words of proclaiming love for God, our Father, were recorded in the Old Testament in Deuteronomy, with passages that have been discovered dating back to 100 BCE. These words reveal that love comes from God. He has enabled us to pass love on throughout the generations. Love sustains life, fulfills life, and enriches life for each one of us.
We need to be cognizant of how we speak to the people we love and share love on a daily basis. We only get one shot. This is not a rehearsal. I Guar-an-tee.
Deuteronomy 30:6
“The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love Him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live.”
